A free listing gives a restoration company a place in the directory and helps property owners find its basic information. We review the submission for completeness before it is published.
A free listing is not a recommendation, certification, or guarantee of the company’s work.
Directory Certified companies have an active certified membership and must satisfy the standards published on this page. The badge is meant to help property owners quickly identify companies that have provided stronger business, credential, reputation, and service-area information.
Payment alone does not automatically qualify a company for the Directory Certified badge.
Homeowners often search for restoration help during a stressful situation. They should not have to guess whether a directory badge was earned, purchased, or automatically added.
That is why we show free listings and Directory Certified companies differently. The goal is not to pretend that one label can replace a homeowner’s own decision. The goal is to provide better information, explain what was reviewed, and make the differences easy to understand.

Restoration businesses vary by state, specialty, and company size. We focus on information that can be documented and that helps a property owner make a more informed decision.
The company must provide a verifiable business identity, physical location, direct contact information, and an active website or established online presence.
The company must provide applicable restoration certifications, licenses, or insurance information for the services it promotes. Requirements may vary by service and state.
The company must have a public review profile that homeowners can visit. We look at overall rating, review volume, recency, and repeated concerns—not simply one perfect score.
The company must identify the cities and communities it can realistically serve. Certified status is not intended to support exaggerated statewide or nationwide coverage claims.
When a company advertises 24/7 emergency service, it must clearly explain how calls are handled and what customers can reasonably expect after contacting the business.
The company is responsible for keeping its services, phone number, location, credentials, and coverage information current. Materially inaccurate listings may lose certified status.
The company completes its listing and provides its business, service, location, and credential information.
We review the submission for completeness, consistency, public reputation, and alignment with our published standards.
When information is missing or unclear, we may request documentation or additional details before making a decision.
Approved listings are published with the appropriate listing type. Directory Certified status is displayed only while the company remains eligible.
Directory Certified does not guarantee a specific result, replace a property owner’s own research, or mean that The Restoration Directory inspected every completed project. Restoration needs, property conditions, insurance requirements, and contractor regulations differ from one situation to another.
It means the company provided information that met our published listing standards at the time of review.
