Equipment Electricity Calculator
Add one row per piece of equipment with the count, watts, hours per day and days to see the energy use in kilowatt-hours and the cost at your price per kWh.
Enter the price per kilowatt-hour from your utility bill to see the cost. Leave it blank to see only the energy use. This tool does no circuit sizing and gives no electrical safety guidance.
Result
Enter the count, watts, hours per day and days for each piece of equipment to see the energy use in kilowatt-hours. Add your price per kWh to see the cost.
How the Calculation Works
Energy in kilowatt-hours = count × watts × hours per day × days ÷ 1,000. Cost = energy × the price per kWh you enter.
Worked example: 4 items at 600 watts running 8 hours a day for 3 days use 57.6 kWh. At a price of 0.20 per kWh, the cost is 11.52.
About the Numbers You Enter
The wattage on equipment documentation is a rating; actual draw varies with conditions. Hours per day must be between 0 and 24.
This tool only does the arithmetic on the numbers you enter. It does no circuit sizing and gives no electrical safety guidance.
